Mr. A.M.Z. Karim has more than 15 years Experience in Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management, Shipping line, Sales, Customer Services and Operation for export & import. Have established and developing strategic partnership with customers, clients, shipping carriers, private off-docks. Currently he is General Manager of Cross Freight Lines Ltd. Before that, Mr. Karim was the General Manager, Branch In-Charge, Chittagong Expolanka Bangladesh Limited, is largest air and sea forwarder in Bangladesh. Expolanka are honor to be nominated as the best air freight for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has been ranked by IATA for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He was appointed Branch-in-charge for over all activities of Chittagong region since 15th March, 2005. The team includes 32 colleagues across 3 CFS and a corporate team covering I.T. Accounts, HR & Admin, Customer Service & Client Management, Business Support Local Sales, and Operations & Process Excellence. He also worked at MAERSK Logistics as Section Chief for 2 (two) years. He has started his career at MAERSK Logistics on January 1996. Mr. Karim was Team Leader of H&M from Bangladesh. H&M is the largest European buyer from Bangaldesh and also key client of Maersk Logistics generating more than 400 thousand US dollars. Yearly, 165,000 cbm of goods are sourcing from Bangladesh from January 1999- September 2001. Mr. Karim’s Professional Achievements • Scrutinized complex shipping records from multiple data sources, conducted freight rates comparison analysis, resulting in minimum 28% annual cost reduction for the past five years. • In June/July, 2011 through put was a record 1300/1200TEUs; representing 56.47 and 47.49 percentage increase over the 580 and 492 TEUs handle in June/July, 2008. Defined and implemented export process and procedures, managed the flow of all outbound shipments from shippers. It’s with good record for Expolanka to illustrate the completion of 1500 TEUs. • Launched multiple direct consolidation programs to minimize the LCL shipments and insured maximization of freight economies, leading to 28% saving in ocean freight and destination transportation charges in Maersk Logistics for H&M. • Reducing the team size from 7 to 3 in Maersk Logistics. In 2002 after immediate take over of the team, the team consists of 7 members. With reduce team size, managed smooth operation of 59% sea shipment and 1728% air shipment volume increase. • Increased air sales to 530 tons within a year, which is 1728% higher than 2003 and became a top air-freight sales person in Maersk Logistics Bangladesh Limited. I have developed an entrepreneurial organization that is focused on customer service.
